The NATC is considering changes to the race format and adding 2 new classes to the show for the 2009 season. Here are the highlights...
The return of the Sportsman class. This 1/5th scale class allows racers on a limited budget the opportunity to race against drivers of equal ability and with similar equipment. The class is open to any car and any closed fendered body style. Limitations in this class are, NO sponsored or US National winning drivers, and it is recommended that this class be limited to stock Zenoah engines only. New for 2009 is the introduction of the 1/8th Nitro GT class. At selected events in 2009 this class will compete for a limited series schedule in preparation for a complete series run in 2010. Limited to any chassis, closed fendered body replicating an International GT class car. RUBBER TIRE ONLY is the single strictly enforced rule for 2009. Engine, weight, fuel tank volume, nitro percentage, and aero rules will be introduced as the series and class grows. This class is open to any driver and any car brand and is intended as a entry level "feeder" series as a stepping stone to move up to 1/5th scale. Super Touring Car. Unchanged for 2009 F1 Engine displacement increase to 26cc to comply with EFRA and IFMAR usage of the same engine. The fuel tank size of 700cc and race length of 30 minute finals remains in an attempt to keep competition even between 23 and 26cc engines. Also if a competitor runs a 26cc engine in qualifying and sets his/her fastest time then that same engine MUST be used in the final. Super Bikes. Class qualifier time to run 5 minutes* and all main events to run 10 minutes. Open to any fuel or electric powered bike. RUBBER tire only. * qualifier time is discretion of host club and maybe increased to 10 minutes at selected venues. ************ NEW RELEASE ************* At the NATC Championship series races in San Joes we have included a class for the 1/5th scale off road cars. The Rams club will host the "Autocross" class with jumps and rumble strips on the asphalt on the same weekend events of the NATC series. Open to any off road model with max engine displacement of 26cc. Pump gas only. Any tire. Any body. 2 wheel drive and 4 wheel drive (classes will be seperated if enough cars sign up). Should be great fun! Write Comment (0 Comments) |
